The Executive Director of Cannabis Reform of Houston is LaTonya Whittington, a longtime advocate of medicinal and recreational Cannabis. Diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia, an uncontrollable facial nerve condition, she underwent a brain surgery called Microvascular Decompression in 2014, but afterward still dealt with excruciating pain.
Eventually, only CBD oil provided Mrs. Whittington with a better quality of life, and yes, she was hooked! She later joined the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML). Became the Communications Director in 2016. Later to be elected as the Executive Director in 2017. Due to tax reasons prior to her vote in, the label was shut down. But she was still determined to keep the fight for the legalization of Cannabis in Texas. That is when she started the Cannabis Reform of Houston.
Mrs. Whittington is also a Harris County Precinct Chair Holder, a position that keeps her in touch with legislators and politicians in the Lone Star State.
She is looking forward to bringing together all the cannabis organizations for the next election, to show strength in numbers--” Divided We Fall, United We Stand.” It's necessary to achieve a much larger voter turnout at election time by encouraging people to register, and then vote for the lawmakers who are for REPEALING THE PROHIBITION OF CANNABIS.
She has spoken at various events all over the US. She has visited the Capital of Austin several times to stand up and fight for those who can't. In doing so she has hope there will be a big change in Texas to help those in need. Who are sick and in need. FOR THE REFORM OF MARIJUANA LAWS IN TEXAS.
